Easter Morning

Easter Morning 2021

Rise and shine, He says. The dawn is splendid.

Holy Thoughts surround me.

May all these little things I do this morning, care for you.

The plants, the birds, the squishing of the sponge…

the food I have prepared is for Your body.

I will be gentle, tender with every leaf, each act,

because You are within and through, alive.

The house is still, perfectly quiet but for the heat,

stealthily rising up from the cellar.

Non-liquid fluid fills the space.

Everything in flow and graceful.

You love this home.

You love all its idiosyncrasies,

these creativities, not flaws,

pigmentations of a skin well worn.

And I, your eyes so pleased.

And I, your hand, write a poem.

And I your Self, offering my senses to your joy,

reality to Reality.

What would this curtain be without us?

This barn board wall, a useless plank.

What purpose, what harmonious place it would forsake

if not for the love of the Creator?

Adoration, See the world lives for joy of thee!

See Your inspirations revealed.

Everything has your face, your eyes

winking, I Am with you.

Not a hair, not a thread,

not a speck of dust is out of place

but the air tingles with fullness.

And where am I this Easter morning?

Only where I want to be…

a bit of deep dark chocolate

melting on Your tongue.

It’s delicious, this sweet communion;

for two, The Taster and the tasted

consumed and become One.

The Partaker is in bliss with this

liquescent human confection.

The confection realizing Heaven!

cries out,

take all my sugar now!
